Educational MaterialsSolo Spirit is an incredible adventure, but it is also a educational opportunity. Both the balloon itself and the Palantir Technology Demonstrator Payload will provide data about the structure and characteristics of the atmosphere. The materials below have been created for use by teachers, students, and anyone interested in increasing their understanding of the Solo Spirit adventure. These materials were originally created for the 1998 Solo Spirit flight by high school students at Mary Institute Country Day School, working with researchers at the Earth and Planetary Sciences Department, Washington University (both in St. Louis, MO). They were updated by members of the Solo Spirit payload team for the 2001 Solo Spirit flight. The materials were developed at a level appropriate for Middle and High School students. |
